History The village was built in the 9th century at the same time as Caramanico Terme. The old part of the town, referred to as Salle vecchia, was hit by an earthquake in 1915 and later a landslide in 1933. The current town lies nearby, with much of the old town still abandoned. Salle is mentioned in the Chronicon Casauriense by the end of the 10th century and in 1191 was included as one of the 72 castles controlled by the monastery of San Clemente a Casauria. Caramanico Terme is a ''comune'' and town in the province of Pescara in the Abruzzo region of Italy, situated near the confluence of the Orfento and Orta rivers, on a hilltop between the Monte Morrone and the Majella mountains. History The town takes its name from ''cara'', meaning rock and/or ''arimannia'', a Lombard establishment in the late Middle Ages. Pratola Peligna ( Abruzzese: ') is a ''comune'' and town in the Province of L'Aquila in the Abruzzo region of Italy. As of 2015, it has a population of 7,652 inhabitants. Roccacasale (locally ''La Rocca'') is a ''comune'' in the Province of L'Aquila in the Abruzzo region of Italy. Built on the slopes of the Monte della Rocca in the central Apennine Mountains, Apennines, the village overlooks the Peligna Valley and the town of Sulmona. The village arose from a small settlement called Casali, which had few inhabitants prior to 925. As a result of the construction of the fortified ''Castello De Sanctis, rocca'', sited to control the entrance to the Valle del Sangro and the Cinquemiglia plain, from Saracen or Byzantine, the centre formed, with the passing of time, into a typical medieval walled village on the slopes directly under the castle. Sulmona ( nap, label= Abruzzese, Sulmóne; la, Sulmo; grc, Σουλμῶν, Soulmôn) is a city and ''comune'' of the province of L'Aquila in Abruzzo, Italy. It is located in the Valle Peligna, a plain once occupied by a lake that disappeared in prehistoric times. In the ancient era, it was one of the most important cities of the Paeligni and is known for being the native town of the Roman poet Ovid, of whom there is a bronze statue, located on the town's main road and named after him. Tocco da Casauria is a ''comune'' and town in the Province of Pescara in the Abruzzo region of Central Italy. The centre was known for centuries as simply Tocco, and the name "da Casauria" was added only after 1861. Pescara
