Salak Selatan LRT Station
Salak Selatan LRT station is a Malaysian low-rise rapid transit station situated near and named after the Kuala Lumpur township of Salak South. The station is part of the Sri Petaling Line (formerly known as STAR). The station was opened on July 11, 1998, as part of the second phase of the STAR system's opening, including 7 new stations along the Chan Sow Lin-Sri Petaling route. Location The Salak Selatan station is intended to serve the incorporated town of Salak South directly to the east; the station itself located behind a row of shophouses along Salak South's main carriageway, ''Jalan Sungai Besi'', towards the east. The stations exits to both Salak South to the west and Bandar Sri Permaisuri to the east. The Salak Selatan station was constructed along two leveled tracks, reusing the now defunct Federated Malay States Railway and Malayan Railway route between Kuala Lumpur, Ampang and Salak South. Rapid KL
Rapid KL (styled as ''rapidKL'') is a public transportation system owned by Prasarana Malaysia and operated by its subsidiaries Rapid Rail and Rapid Bus. With its coverage throughout Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley areas, it was followed by a federal government restructuring of public transport systems in Kuala Lumpur after the bankruptcy of STAR and PUTRA Light Rapid Transit operators, the precursors to the Ampang/Sri Petaling Lines and Kelana Jaya Line respectively. In 2003, it had inherited bus services and assets formerly operated and owned by Intrakota and Cityliner after being bailed out. Four years later, the Malaysian government had bailed out KL Infrastructure Group, the owner and operation concession holder for the Kuala Lumpur monorail, and had placed it under ownership of Prasarana. Sri Permaisuri is a township in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is located near Bandar Tun Razak and Salak South. It was opened for residential housing in 2000. The major types of housing there are apartments and condominiums. History Bandar Sri Permaisuri is a privatised joint venture between Dwitasik Sdn. Bhd as the developer and Kuala Lumpur City Hall ''(Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur)'' (DBKL) as the land owner on a site. It is developed as an integrated, self-contained residential, commercial and recreational township. The township was expected to cater to an estimated 70,000 people. The development shares common boundaries with Cheras, Salak Selatan and Bandar Tun Razak.
