Sütlüce, Beyoğlu
Sütlüce is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Beyoğlu, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 12,736 (2022). It is on the eastern bank of the Golden Horn. It faces Eyüp, one of Istanbul's most holy sites, across the water. Immediately north of Sütlüce are Alibeyköy and Kağıthane, once, as the Sweet Waters of Europe, renowned beauty spots on two streams that flowed into the Golden Horn. Immediately to the south is Hasköy. In the 19th and early 20th centuries Sütlüce suffered from the decision to turn what had once been a famously beautiful area into an industrial zone. Belatedly the first two decades of the 20th century saw it redeveloped with a touristic future in mind. Beyoğlu
Beyoğlu (; ) is a municipality and Districts of Turkey, district of Istanbul Province, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its area is 9 km2, and its population is 225,920 (2022). It is on the European side of Istanbul, Turkey, separated from the old city (historic peninsula of Constantinople) by the Golden Horn. Üsküdar
Üsküdar () is a municipality and district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its area is 35 km2, and its population is 524,452 (2022). It is a large and densely populated district on the Anatolian (Asian) shore of the Bosphorus. It is bordered to the north by Beykoz, to the east by Ümraniye, to the southeast by Ataşehir and to the south by Kadıköy; with Karaköy, Kabataş, Beşiktaş, and the historic Sarayburnu quarter of Fatih facing it on the opposite shore to the west. Ayvansaray
Ayvansaray is a picturesque neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Fatih, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 15,747 (2022). It is on the Golden Horn, between Balat and Eyüpsultan. It lies inside what was the walled city on Constantinople and later of İstanbul and corresponds to the old quarter of Blachernae (''Vlachérnai'' in Greek). The name Ayvansaray comes from the Persian ایوانسرای (Iwan + Saray) and probably means "Veranda Palace", a name that hearkens back to the Palace of Alexios I Komnenos (now lost), which was part of the complex of Blachernae. The Golden Horn ferry stops at Ayvansaray, linking it to Üsküdar, Karaköy, Kasımpaşa, Fener, Balat, Hasköy, Sütlüce and Eyüp. Fener
Fener (; ), also spelled Phanar, is a quarter midway up the Golden Horn in the district of Fatih in Istanbul, Turkey. The Turkish name is derived from the Greek word "phanarion" (Medieval Greek: Φανάριον), meaning lantern, streetlight or lamppost; the neighborhood was so called because of a column topped with a lantern which stood here in the Byzantine period and was used as a street light or lighthouse. Fener was a traditionally Greek neighbourhood during the Ottoman era and its streets still contain many old stone houses and churches dating from Byzantine and Ottoman times. The grand mansions between the main road and the shore of the Golden Horn were often used to store wood imported from the Black Sea (Pontos) area; one now houses Istanbul's Women's Library. Karaköy
Karaköy (), the modern name for the old Galata, is a commercial quarter in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, Turkey, located at the northern part of the Golden Horn mouth on the European side of Bosphorus. Karaköy is one of the oldest and most historic districts of the city, and is today an important commercial center and transport hub. It is connected with the surrounding neighborhoods by streets radiating out from Karaköy Square. Miniatürk
Miniatürk is a miniature park at the northeastern shore of Golden Horn in Istanbul, Turkey. It was opened on 2 May 2003. It is one of the world's largest miniature parks, with a model area and total area of . It contains 135 models, in 1:25 scale model, scale, of structures from in and around Turkey, and interpretations of historic structures. Of the park's total area, is open space; is covered; and contain pools and waterways. Its parking lot has a capacity of 300 vehicles. 60 of the park's structures are from Istanbul, 63 are from Anatolia, and 13 are from the Ottoman Empire, Ottoman territories that today lie outside Turkey.
