Südtirol Heute (German for ''South Tyrol Today'') is a television programme of the Austrian ORF, which is broadcast in Austria and relayed by the Rundfunk Anstalt Südtirol (RAS) in South Tyrol, Italy. The programme covers news from all three parts of the Tyrol, namely North Tyrol, East Tyrol and South Tyrol. ''Südtirol Heute'' is broadcast every work day on ORF 2 Tirol at 18:30 CET, and, since 2007, by the RAS on ORF 1 at 19:30 CET. ORF 2
ORF 2 (''ORF zwei'', ''Österreichischer Rundfunk 2'') is an Austrian public television channel owned by ORF. It was launched on 11 September 1961 as a technical test programme. Today it is one of the four public TV channels in Austria. ORF 2 is available via DVB-T in Germany near the Austrian border and in parts of Munich. It is funded by a mixture of advertising breaks and a television licence fee; as such, unlike its German equivalents (which are generally available free-to-air), ORF 2 and its sister stations are encrypted over satellite. History ORF 2 began broadcasting three days a week as a "Technical Test Program" (''Technisches Versuchsprogramm'') on UHF frequencies on 11 September 1961. ORF Regional Studios
The ORF regional studios are branch offices from ORF (broadcaster), ORF in each state of Austria. Since 1975 there is also a regional office in and since 2021 a broadcasting TV studio in Bolzano for the German-speaking population of South Tyrol, Italy. Regional studios The regional studios produce their own state radio, broadcast in the whole state. These regional radios are in the Ö2 group. The regional studio in Carinthia also produces the ORF Radio Dva. For television, each regional studio produces its own news with weather for the state, which are broadcast in their state simultaneously on the TV channel ORF2. Every Sunday at 6:30pm, one regional studio gets chosen to produces an edition of ''Österreich Bild'', which shows the highlights of their state to the rest of Austria. Innsbruck
Innsbruck (; ) is the capital of Tyrol (federal state), Tyrol and the List of cities and towns in Austria, fifth-largest city in Austria. Bolzano
Bolzano ( ; ; or ) is the capital city of South Tyrol (officially the province of Bolzano), Northern Italy. With a population of 108,245, Bolzano is also by far the largest city in South Tyrol and the third largest in historical Tyrol. The greater metro area has about 250,000 inhabitants and is one of the urban centres within the Alps. Bolzano is the seat of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, where lectures and seminars are held in English, German, and Italian. East Tyrol
East Tyrol, occasionally East Tirol (), is an exclave of the Austrian federal state of Tyrol, separated from North Tyrol by parts of Salzburg State and parts of Italian South Tyrol (''Südtirol'', ). It is coterminous with the administrative district ('' Bezirk'') of Lienz. North Tyrol
North Tyrol, rarely North Tirol (), is the main part of the Austrian federal state Tyrol, located in the western part of the country. The other part of the federal state is East Tyrol, which also belongs to Austria, but doesn't share a border with North Tyrol. Besides those two regions, the historical region of Tyrol for many centuries also included South Tyrol and the historical region of Welschtirol, which were annexed by Italy after World War I. With that, North Tyrol and East Tyrol were effectively cut off from each other.
