Süderlügum (Amt)
Süderlügum was an '' Amt'' ("collective municipality") in the district of Nordfriesland, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Its seat was in Süderlügum. In January 2008, it was merged with the ''Ämter'' Karrharde, Bökingharde and Wiedingharde, and the municipalities Niebüll and Leck to form the ''Amt'' Südtondern. Amt (subnational Entity)
Amt is a type of administrative division governing a group of municipalities, today only in Germany, but formerly also common in other countries of Northern Europe. Its size and functions differ by country and the term is roughly equivalent to a British or U.S. county.
