Søren Haagen
Søren Haagen Andreasen (born 26 March 1974) is a Danish handballer, who played for HØJ Elite in the Danish 1st division until the end of the 2022/2023 season. In 1996 he was named Danish handballer of the year. He initially retired as a professional handballer in 2001 at the age of 28, but made a comeback over 10 years later when he signed for Danish club GOG Håndbold. In 2020 he became the first Danish handballer to play a league match together with his own son, when both he and Andreas Haagen took the field against Mors-Thy Håndbold Mors-Thy Håndbold is a handball club, based in Nykøbing Mors and Thisted, Denmark. HØJ Elite (men's Handball)
HØJ Elite Men is a men's handball club based in Ølstykke and Jyllinge, Denmark. As of the 2023–24 season, the team competes men's Danish 1st Division. In the 2021–22 season, the team played in the promotion play-offs for the Danish Men's Handball League. However, they lost the final matches against TTH Holstebro. The elite team is part of the association 'HØJ Håndbold', which was founded on 7 January 1995 by a merger of Ølstykke Handball Association and Jyllinge-Gundsømagle Idrætsforening's Handball Department. In the spring of 2014, the elite department was established as 'HØJ Elite'. In the 2024-25 season, they were promoted to the Herrehåndboldligaen, winning 44 of 48 available points in the 1st Division. The women's team was also promoted the very same season.
