''Série noire'' is a French crime television series created by Pierre Grimblat in 1984. The series was adapted from crime books by the publishing imprint of the same name. 37 episodes were filmed between 1984 and 1989, and were aired until 1991 on TF1. Victor Robert Nataf (18 June 1936 – 4 May 2017), known professionally as Victor Lanoux, was a French actor known to English-speaking audiences for his role as Ludovic in ''Cousin Cousine'' (1975). Biography Victor Robert Nataf was born to a Tunisian Jew from Sfax and a Catholic mother from Normandy. He was evacuated from Paris during the Second World War. Lanoux refers to the name used during his stay in La Chapelle-Taillefert during the French occupation where he lived until the age of 11, when he returned to Paris. He left school at age 14 to become an apprentice varnisher. Liliane Rovère () (born 30 January 1933) is a French actress. Personal life Liliane Rovère was born Liliane Cyprienne Cukier. Of Jewish origin, she hid in Catholic institutions under a fake name during the German occupation of France in World War II. Her parents survived the Holocaust, but many of her family did not. Rovère's lifelong love of jazz began at the age of 12, when she began to frequent jazz clubs. At the age of 18, after a visit to the Club Saint-Germain, Rovère survived a rape by two acquaintances. In 1954, Rovère's parents sent her to live with an uncle in the United States.
