Séamus McGuinness
Séamus "Jim" McGuinness (1930 – 6 January 2008) was an Irish Gaelic footballer whose National Football League (Ireland), league and All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, championship career at senior level with the Dublin county football team, Dublin county team spanned eight seasons from 1950 to 1958. McGuinness made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of nineteen when he was selected for the Dublin junior team. He played one championship season with the junior team, culminating with the winning of a Leinster Junior Football Championship, Leinster medal in 1949. McGuinness subsequently joined the Dublin senior team during the 1950-51 National Football League (Ireland), 1950–51 league. During his career he won one Leinster Senior Football Championship, Leinster medal and one National Football League (Ireland), National Football League medal. Rush, County Dublin
Rush ( ), officially ''An Ros'', is a small seaside commuter town in Fingal, County Dublin, Ireland. Rush lies on the Irish Sea coast, between Skerries and Lusk, and has a small harbour. It had a population at the 2022 census of 10,875. Rush was once known as the "market garden of Ireland" for the large role market gardening played in its economy and culture. In the 21st century, Rush is no longer a major centre of national horticulture and has instead evolved into a growing commuter town on the northern fringes of the Greater Dublin Area. The 1955 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 69th staging of Ireland's premier Gaelic football knock-out competition. Meath were the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Dublin in the Leinster final. Kerry were the winners. Note Quarter Finals were back in the Munster championship but Clare only skipped 1 year. Limerick, not part of the championship between 1953 and 1964, were approved to host Waterford in the Quarter Final but did not play them due to a dispute over the eligibility of players. The Leinster Senior Football Championship, known simply as the Leinster Championship and shortened to Leinster SFC, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Leinster GAA, Leinster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA).
