Séamus Gillen
Séamus Gillen (born 1947) is an Irish former hurler who played as a left wing-forward at senior level for the Cork county team. Born in Cork, Gillen first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team before later joining the intermediate side. He made his senior debut during the 1970-71 league. Gillen had a brief inter-county career as a non-playing substitute. At club level Gillen is a one-time All-Ireland medallist with St Finbarr's. In addition to this he also won one Munster medals and several championship medals on the field of play and as a non-playing substitute. Gillen's retirement came following the conclusion of the 1971 championship. St Finbarr's National Hurling & Football Club or St Finbarr's Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic games club based in the Togher, Cork, Togher area of Cork (city), Cork city, County Cork, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Cork County Hurling Team
The Cork county hurling team represents Cork in hurling and is governed by Cork GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions: the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Munster Senior Hurling Championship, and the National Hurling League. The GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Club Championship, known simply as the All-Ireland Club Championship, is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Munster Intermediate Hurling Championship
The Munster Intermediate Hurling Championship was an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) between 1961 and 2017. Teams consisted of senior, intermediate and junior club players who were not members of their county's senior panel. The competition was established to prevent the stronger counties from dominating the existing Munster Junior Hurling Championship.
