São Lourenço dos Órgãos is a ''Administrative divisions of Cabo Verde, concelho'' (municipality) of Cape Verde. It is situated in the mountainous central part of the island of Santiago, Cape Verde, Santiago. Its seat is the city João Teves. Its population was 7,388 at the 2010 census, and its area is 36.9 km2. The municipality is bordered by Santa Cruz, Cape Verde, Santa Cruz to the northeast, São Domingos, Cape Verde (municipality), São Domingos to the south, Ribeira Grande de Santiago, Cape Verde, Ribeira Grande de Santiago to the southwest and São Salvador do Mundo, Cape Verde, São Salvador do Mundo to the northwest. Pico de Antónia, the island's highest mountain, straddles the borders of São Lourenço dos Órgãos, São Salvador do Mundo and Ribeira Grande de Santiago. Jardim Botânico Nacional Grandvaux Barbosa
The Jardim Botânico Nacional Grandvaux Barbosa is the only botanical garden in Cape Verde. The garden is located in São Jorge (Santiago), São Jorge, in the middle of the island Santiago, Cape Verde, Santiago. Its collection focuses on endemic and native plants of Cape Verde. The garden was created in 1986 and was named after the Franco-Portuguese botanist Luís Augusto Grandvaux Barbosa (1914-1983). It is located 400 m above sea level and covers 20,000 m2. It is part of the School of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (the former "INIDA", National Institute of Agrarian Studies and Development), part of the University of Cape Verde.
