Sándor Gujdár
Sándor Gujdár (born 8 November 1951) is a Hungarian former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He played for Szegedi EOL, Honvéd, Aris Thessaloniki, and the Hungary national football team The Hungary national football team ( hu, magyar labdarúgó-válogatott) represents Hungary in men's international Association football, football and is controlled by the Hungarian Football Federation. The team has made 9 appearances in the FIF ... - where he earned 25 caps - including two appearances at the 1978 FIFA World Cup Finals in Argentina. He became Hungarian champions with Honvéd in 1980. One year after he moved to Greece to play for Aris Thessaloniki, his professional career was cut short by a serious head injury. He resumed playing in 1986, and spent three years in Austria with lower-class Oxtbahn XI. He later worked as a coach. 1978 FIFA World Cup
The 1978 FIFA World Cup was the 11th edition of the FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial international football world championship tournament among the men's senior national teams. It was held in Argentina between 1 and 25 June. The Cup was won by the host nation, Argentina, who defeated the Netherlands 3–1 in the final, after extra time. The final was held at River Plate's home stadium, Estadio Monumental, in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires. This win was the first World Cup title for Argentina, who became the fifth team (after Uruguay, Italy, England, and West Germany) to be both hosts and world champions and the third South American team to win a World Cup. Argentina, the Netherlands, and Brazil were the gold, silver, and bronze medalists, respectively. Iran and Tunisia made their first appearances in the tournament.
