Bernadette Cynthia Szőcs (born 5 March 1995) is a professional table tennis player from Romania. She is the incumbent European games champion in women's singles and a three time Olympian, having participated in 2016, 2020 and 2024 editions of summer Olympics. Career In September 2011, she travelled to Argentina for the World Junior Circuit event where she overtook Kasumi Ishikawa to reach the top spot in the competition series. In July 2012, she was ranked 5th in the ITTF World Junior Circuit. Szőcs won the singles event in the inaugural season of T2, beating Feng Tianwei in the final. Emőke Szőcs (born 20 October 1985) is a Hungarian professional biathlonist. Szőcs, who is ethnic Hungarian, was born in Miercurea Ciuc, Romania. She has been a member of the Romanian biathlon team since 2002 and achieved her best result in the Biathlon World Cup in 2008, when she finished 68th in Hochfilzen. In 2010, although Szőcs clinched the qualifying spot for the Winter Olympics, she was dropped from the traveling squad, following that Emőke thought she has to change. Géza Szőcs
Géza Szőcs (21 August 1953 – 5 November 2020) was an ethnic Hungarian poet and politician from Transylvania, Romania, who served as Secretary of State for Culture of the Ministry of National Resources in Hungary from 2 June 2010 to 13 June 2012. Life Szőcs was born in Târgu Mureș, Romania. His father was (1928–2020), an ethnic Hungarian writer and translator from Romania. His mother is literary translator (b. 1928). He studied until 1979 at the Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj. On a proposal by András Sütő, he received a scholarship for the 1979–80 semester at the University of Vienna. Szőcs edited the Hungarian-language samizdat ''Ellenpontok'', because of this he was interrogated and abused by Securitate, secret police agency of the Ceaușescu regime. Hunor János Szőcs (born 24 March 1992 in Târgu Mureș) is a Romanian professional table tennis player. He started playing Table Tennis in Târgu-Mureș, until he was 14 years old, at which point he was transferred to Csm-Lps Bistrița, where he was a part of Olympic Center which was designed to train the boys national team.
