Synnøve Anker Aurdal
Synnøve Anker Aurdal (8 December 1908 – 2 April 2000) was a Norwegian textile artist. Her awards include Jacob-prisen, Maihaugenprisen, the Prince Eugen Medal, Arts Council Norway Honorary Award, and the Order of St. Olav. Early and personal life Anker Aurdal was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway to Nils Botvid Anker (1878–1943) and Gudrun Nilssen (1875–1958). She was the sister of librarian Øyvind Anker (1904–1989) and granddaughter of educator Herman Anker (1839–1896). She was married to painter Leon Aurdal (1890–1949) from 1944 until his death in 1949. She was married to painter and sculptor Ludvig Eikaas (1920–2010) from 1949. She received private schooling in Lillehammer and studied at the State Women's Industrial School (''Statens lærerhøgskole i forming'') in Oslo from 1932 to 1934. Øyvind Anker
Øyvind Anker (13 July 1904 – 30 December 1989) was a Norwegian librarian. Personal life He was born in Frankfurt am Main as a son of engineer Nils Botvid Anker (1878–1943) and artist and pianist Gudrun Nilssen (1875–1958). He grew up in Vestre Aker and Lillehammer. He was a brother of Synnøve Anker Aurdal, and through her a brother-in-law of Ludvig Eikaas. Through another sister Ella he was a brother-in-law of Frede Castberg. He was a great-grandson of Peter Martin Anker, grandson of Herman Anker, nephew of Katti Anker Møller (and her husband Kai Møller) and Ella Anker, grandnephew of Nils Anker, Christian August Anker and Dikka Møller, and a first cousin of Peter Martin Anker and Tove Mohr. Oslo
Oslo ( or ; ) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. He took the examen artium in Stavanger in 1949, and a teacher's education in Kristiansand in 1952. He studied philology in Oslo and Bergen, and graduated with the cand.philol. degree in 1957. His paper ''Omkring Bǫglungasǫgur'', on the Bagler sagas, was printed in 1959. In December 1957 he married Karen Blauuw, who would later become a professor. Oslo City Art Award
The Oslo City Art Award (''Oslo bys kunstnerpris'') is given annually for contributions to the arts by the city of Oslo, Norway. The Oslo City Art Award has been awarded every year since 1978 with the exception of 1991 when the prize was not awarded due to a lack of funding. Since inception, the prize has been distributed to 4-5 recipients annually. The prize is "awarded to individuals who in the past or in recent years has made an outstanding achievement in Oslo's art world". The prize consists of a diploma and a monetary amount.
