Synnöve Solbakken (1919 Film)
''Synnöve Solbakken'' is a Swedish silent film from 1919 directed by John W. Brunius. The screenplay was written by Brunius and Sam Ask. It is based on Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson's 1857 novel '' Synnøve Solbakken''. The novel was adapted for film two additional times in Sweden (in 1934 and 1957). Filming The film was shot in the summer of 1919 at the Skandiaateljén studio in the Långängen neighborhood of Stocksund, Sweden and in Sel in Norway's Gudbrand Valley Gudbrandsdalen (; ) is a valley and traditional district in the Norwegian county of Innlandet (formerly Oppland). Egil Eide
Egil Næss Eide (24 August 1868 – 13 December 1946) was a Norwegian silent film actor and film director, director. He appeared in eighteen films between 1913 and 1935, and worked at the Nationaltheatret, National Theatre between 1899 and 1939. Career He was born in Haugesund as a son of ship-owner Ludolf Johan Kramer Antonius Eide, Ludolf Eide (1821–1908) and Albertine Knagenhjelm Wiese (1834–1903). He was an uncle of zoologist Albert Eide Parr. After finishing his secondary education, Eide lived in the United States until 1894, where he went through his first marriage. Back in Norway, he made his state debut in 1894 at Den Nationale Scene. He was hired at Christiania Theater in 1898, and when it went defunct one year later he moved to the new Nationaltheatret, National Theatre. Synnöve Solbakken (1919)
Saint Sunniva (10th century; Old Norse ''Sunnifa'', from Old English ''Sunngifu'') is the patron saint of the Norwegian Church of Norway Diocese of Bjørgvin, as well as all of Western Norway. Sunniva was venerated alongside her brother Alban, who in Norwegian tradition was identified with Saint Alban, the Roman-era British saint. Legend ''Acta sanctorum in Selio'' is a Latin hagiography of saints Alban and Sunniva and their companions. It is believed to have been composed shortly after 1170. Oddr Snorrason made use of it in his ''Óláfs saga Tryggvasonar'', in a section known as ''Albani þáttr ok Sunnifu'' ("tale of Alban and Sunniva") and also as ''Seljumanna þáttr''. Oddr's original work was composed in Latin but only survives in an Old Icelandic translation. The legend was also included in the later compilation ''Óláfs saga Tryggvasonar en mesta''. Justus Hagman
Carl Justus Hagman (14 February 1859 – 28 February 1936) was a Swedish actor. Hagman made his stage debut in 1876 and made his first appearance in a film in 1913 in the Victor Sjöström film '' Miraklet''. He performed in another thirty films until 1935. Between 1882 and 1885 Hagman was an employee of the Swedish Theatre in Helsinki, he also worked at the Storåteatern, Vasateatern and the Albert Ranft Teatern and Södra Teatern. Among his roles are ''Trettondagsafton'', ''Don Cesar de Bazano'', Fagin in ''Oliver Twist'', gamle Kampe in ''Det nya systemet'', Didrik in ''Ljungby horn'' and the character Lutz in ''Gamla Heidelberg''. Torsten Lars Herman Jamte Bergström (10 December 1896 – 26 May 1948) was a Swedish people, Swedish film director and theater and film actor. Bergström was born in Ås, Krokom, Jämtland County and attended the Royal Dramatic Training Academy from 1917 to 1919.
