Sylte is a village in Surnadal Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The farming village is located at the end of the Surnadalsfjorden at the mouth of the river Surna. It is about southeast of the village of Glærem, about north of the village of Surnadalsøra, and about northeast of the municipal center of Skei. Møre og Romsdal (; en, Møre and Romsdal) is a county in the northernmost part of Western Norway. It borders the counties of Trøndelag, Innlandet, and Vestland. Øye Church
Øye Church ( no, Øye kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Surnadal Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located between the two villages of Sylte and Skei. It is one of the two churches for the ''Øye og Ranes'' parish which is part of the Indre Nordmøre prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1871 using plans drawn up by the architect Jacob Wilhelm Nordan. The church seats about 300 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to 1589, but the church was not new that year. There has been a church in the Sylte-Skei area for a long time. Surna (Norway)
The Surna is a river in Trøndelag and Møre og Romsdal counties in Norway. It runs from Rindal Municipality (in Trøndelag) to Surnadal Municipality (in Møre og Romsdal). The long river begins near Øvre Rindal at the confluence of the rivers Tiåa and Lomunda. The river then flows west and empties into the Surnadalsfjorden at the village of Surnadalsøra. Several smaller rivers flow into the Surna from the Trollheimen mountains to the south. The Foldsjøen and Gråsjøen reservoirs along the Folda River also flow into the Surna. The river is a good fishing river. The Brandåa, Gryta, and Kysinga hydroelectric power stations operate on tributaries of the river.
