Syensqo
Syensqo (pronounced “Science Co.”) is a Belgian multinational materials company, headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. It was established in December 2023, through the spin-off from Solvay. The current CEO is Ilham Kadri, who previously was the CEO of Solvay. Syensqo has been publicly listed since December 11, 2023 and joined the BEL20 soon after. The company is present globally with 62 industrial sites and 12 major R&D centers, and it employs 13,000 people in 30 countries. History In 2022, Solvay announced the intention to separate into two independent stock listed companies: Solvay and Syensqo. Solvay would retain its historic soda ash, Peroxides, Silica, and Coatis production, as well as the Specialty Chemicals division. Ilham Kadri
Ilham Kadri (born February 14, 1969) is a Moroccan business executive, and the CEO of Syensqo. Between 2019 and 2023, she was the CEO of Solvay, a Belgian chemical company. After the split of the company in December 2023, she continued as CEO of Syensqo. Early life and education Kadri was born and grew up in Casablanca, Morocco. She studied engineering at ECPM Strasbourg (formerly École des Hauts Polymères de Strasbourg), majoring in polymer physics and chemistry. Kadri obtained her PhD in macromolecular physical chemistry in 1997. Bernard Lucas "Ben" Feringa (; born 18 May 1951) is a Dutch synthetic organic chemist, specializing in molecular nanotechnology and homogeneous catalysis. Green hydrogen (GH2 or GH2) is hydrogen produced by the electrolysis of water, using renewable electricity. Production of green hydrogen causes significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions than production of grey hydrogen, which is derived from fossil fuels without carbon capture. Green hydrogen's principal purpose is to help limit global warming to 1.5 °C, reduce fossil fuel dependence by replacing grey hydrogen, and provide for an expanded set of end-uses in specific economic sectors, sub-sectors and activities. Bertrand Piccard Royal Scottish Geographical Society, FRSGS (born 1 March 1958) is a Swiss explorer, psychiatrist and balloon (aircraft), environmentalist. Solar Impulse is a Swiss long-range experimental solar-powered aircraft project, and also the name of the project's two operational aircraft. The privately financed project is led by Swiss engineer and businessman André Borschberg and Swiss psychiatrist and balloonist Bertrand Piccard, who co-piloted '' Breitling Orbiter 3'', the first balloon to circle the world non-stop. Raphaël Dinelli (born in Floirac, Gironde) is a French professional offshore sailor. He took part in the 1996-1997 Vendee Globe where he was rescued by Pete Goss after his boat sank in the Indian Ocean and he was in a liferaft dropped by an Australian Air Force plane.
