Swindon St George
Swindon St George are a rugby league team playing in the West of England Rugby League. The kit consists of black and red shirts with black shorts and socks. History ''Swindon Bulldogs'' rugby league club existed from the 1980s until 1995. They played in the Midlands and South West Amateur Rugby League Association (MASWARLA) and the London League. Former Bulldogs players got together to form the committee of a new club, ''Swindon St George'', in late 2007. Swindon joined the West Midlands Division of the Rugby League Conference in 2008. In 2009, they competed in the London & South Division. In 2011, they competed in the West of England regional league losing in the final of the play-offs, after Michael Thompson scored 7 tries in their semi-final. The South West Rugby League is a summer rugby league competition for amateur teams in South West England. The competition was formed in 2003 as the RLC South West Regional. Its name changed following the 2012 restructure of amateur rugby league in Great Britain. History The Rugby League Conference was founded in 1997 as the ''Southern Conference'', a 10-team pilot league for teams in the South of England and the English Midlands. The conference made the leap from 30 to 52 teams in 2003 and a South West Division appeared for the first time. London League (rugby League)
The Rugby League Conference, also known as the Co-operative Rugby League Conference as a result of sponsorship from The Co-operative Group), was a series of regionally based divisions of amateur rugby league teams spread throughout England, Scotland, and Wales. The RLC was founded as the 10-team Southern Conference League in 1997, with teams from the southern midlands and the south east, but subsequently, rebranded and expanded both geographically and numerically to include around 90 teams stretched across almost the whole of Great Britain from Aberdeen in northern Scotland down to Plymouth on the south coast of England. The Midlands Hurricanes are a semi-professional rugby league club based in Birmingham, West Midlands, England. They were founded in 2021 and took over the professional franchise owned by Coventry Bears previously entering the third tier of the British rugby league system, currently known as League 1 in 2015. Oxford Cavaliers Rugby League Football Club is the first amateur rugby league club formed in Oxford in the summer era. For almost thirty years, the Cavaliers have coached and developed several players who have gone on to play the game both professionally and semi-professionally. Cavaliers juniors Mike Castle and Corey Simms both represented London Skolars, Jamie Cope joined Keighley Cougars, while Australians Barry Randall and Brad Smith both had a spell at Super League side, London Broncos (via Rochdale Hornets). Bristol All Golds is a rugby league team based at North Bristol RFC Bristol All Golds, formerly the University of Gloucestershire All Golds, consist of six different teams, with the first team entering Kingstone Press Championship 1 for the 2013 season and exiting it to join the Southern Conference League in 2017. Below the semi-professional side, there are two student teams that compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues; the All Golds in the Super 8 national league and the All Blues in the Wales and West Division. Southern Conference League
The Southern Conference League is the fourth tier of the British rugby league system. It is the highest level of amateur rugby league outside of the heartlands in Northern England, operating in The Midlands, Southern England, and Wales. It was one of the many leagues that replaced the Rugby League Conference. The competition was first played between 2012 and 2016, and was relaunched in 2019 after a two-year hiatus.
