Sweatdrop Studios are a collective of United Kingdom, UK Original English-language manga creators who publish British small press comics. Overview The UK's first home-based independent Original English-language manga publisher and distributor, Sweatdrop Studios publish and distribute manga produced solely by creators living within the UK. Their comics are available for from their own website or at UK anime conventions that they attend. The majority of works published by Sweatdrop are amateur ventures; the artists/authors do not make a living through profits, and produce and sell their works in their own time. There are, however, a few exceptions to this, such as ''Draw Manga'' (), a professional book published under the Sweatdrop Studios name and also 'Manga Life', a series of self-help books for Infinite Ideas. Markosia is a British comic book publishing company. History Markosia was founded by Harry Markos in 2004. He employed Richard Emms (previously of APC) as the Editor-in-chief as well as lead designer. in 2005. Markosia had already published Harry Gallan's ''The Lexian Chronicles'' novel and the initial plan was to produce comic adaptations of novels, such as ''The Lexian Chronicles'' and G.P. Taylor's '' Shadowmancer''. They subsequently secured the license to adapt ''Starship Troopers'', leading to a broadening in the business plan. This would further expand when Markosia brought Chuck Satterlee on board as Director of Operations. Sonia Leong (born 7 May 1982) is a British freelance comic artist, illustrator and member of Sweatdrop Studios. Biography Leong was born in Malaysia and lived in Thailand from 1989 to 2000. She then attended University of Warwick, Economics and Politics BSc (Hons) from 2000 to 2003, and currently resides in Cambridge, UK.
