Swades
''Swades'' () is a 2004 Indian Hindi-language drama film co-written, directed and produced by Ashutosh Gowariker. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, alongside Gayatri Joshi, Kishori Ballal, Daya Shankar Pandey, Rajesh Vivek, and Lekh Tandon. The plot was based on two episodes of the series ''Vaapsi'' on Zee TV's '' Yule Love Stories'' (1994–95) which starred Gowariker. The story of a man setting up a micro hydroelectric project to generate electricity was reported to be inspired by the 2003 Kannada film '' Chigurida Kanasu'' which was based on the novel of the same name by K. Shivaram Karanth and ''Bapu Kuti'' by Rajni Bakshi. Story writer MG Sathya had revealed that he was swayed over by the Gandhian principles and the socio - political environment during his formative years while studying in Kannada medium school in Jalahalli, Bengaluru. Gayatri Joshi
Gayatri Joshi is an Indian former actress, video jockey, model and beauty pageant titleholder. She won the title of Femina Miss India International in the year 2000 and represented India at Miss International 2000. She starred in the 2004 film '' Swades'', her only acting credit to date. Following her marriage to businessman Vikas Oberoi in 2005, she quit acting. Personal life and education Joshi studied at Mount Carmel High School in Nagpur, and when the family re-located to Mumbai, she was enrolled in the J. B. Vachha High School. The 50th Filmfare Awards, honoring Cinema of India, took place on 26 February 2005 in Mumbai. This was the awards' golden jubilee year and to commemorate the occasion, the Filmfare award trophy (The Black Lady statue) was made in gold. Global Precipitation Measurement
Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) is a joint satellite mission between JAXA and NASA as well as other international space agencies to make frequent (every 2–3 hours) observations of Earth's precipitation from orbit. It is part of NASA's Earth Systematic Missions program and works with a satellite constellation to provide full global coverage.
