Svartån (Östergötland)
The Svartån is a river in eastern Sweden and the largest tributary to Motala ström. The river has a total length of 165 kilometersSMHIVattendragsregistret/ref> and a drainage basin area of 3410 km². Its source is situated close to Ormaryd in Jönköping County, about 10 kilometers east of the town of Nässjö, and the river initially flows north through Aneby, forming the Stalpet waterfall. From Aneby it continues through Gripenberg and the town of Tranås before entering lake Sommen. From Sommen it continues through Boxholm, Strålsnäs, Mjölby and Sya before entering the Östergötland plain. Sommen
Sommen () is a lake in the South Swedish highlands lying across the border of the Provinces of Sweden, provinces of Östergötland and Småland. Situated about 147 metres above mean sea level, the lake has an area of and has a maximum depth of 60 metres. The lake is shared between the administrative Municipal council, kommunes of Ydre, Kinda Municipality, Kinda, Boxholm and Tranås and the area around it is sparsely populated. The lake has very clear water, with a visibility of 8 to 10 metres deep, if conditions are good. This makes Sommen one of the greatest clear-water lakes in Sweden. According to tradition Sommen has 365 islands, one for each day of the year. The actual number is around 260. Aneby
Aneby is a locality and the seat of Aneby Municipality in Jönköping County, Sweden. While the municipality has about 6500 inhabitants, half live in the central town of Aneby. The municipality lies amidst the south Swedish highlands, 45 kilometers from Jönköping and can be found along highway route 34 that stretches from Tranås in the north to Eksjö in the south.
