It is located about southwest of the village of Bismo and about west of the village of Elvesæter. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Merrahøi to the west, Vesldalstinden and Holåtindan to the northwest, Steindalshøi and Hestbrepiggene to the northeast, and Steinahøfjellet to the east. Hestbrepiggene or Hestbreapiggan is a mountain ridge on the border of Skjåk Municipality and Lom Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The ridge consists of seven peaks, with the highest one, ''Nørdre Hestbreapiggen'' reaching an elevation of . The mountain is located in the Breheimen mountains and inside the Breheimen National Park, about southwest of the village of Bismo. Innlandet is a Counties of Norway, county in Norway. It was created on 1 January 2020 with the merger of the old counties of Oppland and Hedmark (Jevnaker Municipality and Lunner Municipality were transferred to the neighboring county of Viken (Norwegian county), Viken on the same date). Breheimen
Breheimen is a mountain range in the Innlandet and Vestland counties in Norway. The area lies west of the Jotunheimen mountain range. The mountain range lies to the northwest of the Sognefjellsvegen road, north of the Sognefjorden, south of the Nordfjorden (Sogn og Fjordane), Nordfjorden and Norwegian National Road 15, and east of Norwegian National Road 5 and European route E39. The mountain range includes Jostedalsbreen National Park and Breheimen National Park. The name ''Breheimen'' means "home of the glaciers", since it has many glaciers, including Norway's largest glacier, Jostedalsbreen. Other glaciers in the range include Harbardsbreen and Spørteggbreen. Some of the major mountains in the area include Skåla (Sogn og Fjordane), Skåla, Lodalskåpa, Høgste Breakulen, Tverrådalskyrkja, Hestbrepiggene, and Brenibba. Breheimen National Park () () is a national park that was established in 2009. The park is located in Skjåk Municipality and Lom Municipality in Innlandet county and in Luster Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The park covers of the Breheimen mountain range. The park encompasses some of the wettest and driest terrain in the country, with landscapes shaped over hundreds of thousands of years by glaciers, avalanches and other geological processes. Visitors encounter everything from lush transhumance‑farmed valleys to barren plateaus, soaring peaks and active glaciers.
