Crêpe Suzette
A crêpe or crepe ( or , , ) is a dish made from unleavened batter or dough that is cooked on a frying pan or a griddle. Crêpes are usually one of two varieties: ''sweet crêpes'' () or ''savoury galettes'' (). They are often served with a wide variety of fillings such as cheese, fruit, vegetables, meats, and a variety of spreads. Crêpes can also be flambéed, such as in crêpes Suzette. Etymology The French term "" derives from , the feminine version of the Latin word , which means "curled, wrinkled, having curly hair." Traditions In France, crêpes are traditionally served on the Christian holiday Candlemas (), on February 2. On that day in 472, Pope Gelasius I offered crepes as sacramental bread to French pilgrims that were visiting Rome for the Chandeleur. The sacramental bread was replaced by crêpes in France, and the day became known as "Le Jour des Crêpes" ("The Day of the Crêpes"). The day is also celebrated by many as the day that marks the transition ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   [Amazon] |

''TaleSpin'' is an American animated television series produced by Walt Disney Television Animation. It first aired in 1990 as a preview-run on The Disney Channel before beginning its main run in syndication later that year as part of the programming block The Disney Afternoon. It features anthropomorphized versions of characters adapted from Disney's 1967 animated feature ''The Jungle Book'', which was theatrically re-released in the summer before this show premiered in the fall, notably Baloo the Bear, Louie the orangutan, and Shere Khan the tiger, along with new characters created for the show. The name of the show is a play on "tailspin", the rapid descent of an aircraft in a steep spiral, and on the fact that ''tale'' is another word for "story". The show is one of nine ''Disney Afternoon'' shows to use established Disney characters as the main characters, with the other eight being ''Darkwing Duck'', ''DuckTales'', '' Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers'', ''Goof Troop'', ''Bonker ... Suzette (song)
"Suzette" is a 1986 song recorded by French singer Dany Brillant. Written by Brillant initially for a film in which it starred, it was released only six years later as his debut single, and included on his first studio album ''C'est ça qui est bon'', on which it appears as the sixth track. Released in the last days of 1991, it was a top three hit in France in 1992 and became Dany Brillant's signature song. Background and release In 1986, Brillant, then a student at Cours Florent and singer in the cabaret '' Aux Trois Mailletz'', was hired to play in Francis Huster's film ''On a volé Charlie Spencer'' in which Béatrice Dalle played the character of Suzette. Brillant was to portray a young man singing a song by Frank Sinatra, but this was not possible for budget reasons, so the director's assistant asked him to create a new song, which Brillant wrote with the help of a rhyming dictionary from the Centre Beaubourg library, Paris. However, the role of Brillant and his song "Suzett ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   [Amazon] |
