Sutherland, Saskatoon
Sutherland is a mostly residential neighbourhood located in east-central Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. It is an older suburban subdivision, composed of a near-even mix of single-family detached houses and multiple-unit apartment and semi-detached dwellings. As of 2006, the area was home to 5,206 residents. The neighbourhood is a middle-income area, with an average family income of $51,857, an average dwelling value of $204,213 and a home ownership rate of 43.8%. According to MLS data, the average sale price of a home as of 2013 was $288,651. Sutherland was administered as a separate town outside of Saskatoon before being annexed by the city in 1956. History James Powe and his family arrived in Saskatoon from Ontario in 1884. The Powe family homesteaded in the area which is now Sutherland in 1893. Sutherland Secondary School
Sutherland Secondary School is a public high school in the city of North Vancouver, British Columbia and part of School District 44 North Vancouver. Sutherland Secondary School was at one time a junior high school. At the time, many students then went on to Carson Graham Secondary or Argyle Secondary. Throughout the years, Sutherland's greatest sporting rival has been Handsworth Secondary. Sutherland had been rebuilt in its present location on a gravel field, as it was the second oldest school in the district. The new school was finished in the fall of 2007, followed by the completion of a new artificial field in the spring of 2008. It was the filming location of all the high school scenes in the CW show ''Life Unexpected.'' in the fall of 2009. The Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and Built Environment, Robert Gordon University, is located at the university's Garthdee campus in Aberdeen, Scotland. History The Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and Built Environment, a long-established part of the Robert Gordon University, has provided professionally accredited surveying courses since 1918. It was formed by the merging of the School of Construction, Property and Surveying and the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture. The School takes its name from Tom Scott Sutherland, an Aberdeen Architect and Entrepreneur, who gifted the School's Victorian Mansion house and grounds overlooking the River Dee in 1956, as well as making a generous bequest which is used to help finance study tours and visiting lecturers.
