Suspiria
''Suspiria'' is a 1977 Italian supernatural horror film directed by Dario Argento, who co-wrote the screenplay with Daria Nicolodi, partially based on Thomas De Quincey's 1845 essay '' Suspiria de Profundis''. The film stars Jessica Harper as an American ballet student who transfers to a prestigious European dance academy but realizes, after a series of murders, that the academy is a front for a coven of witches. It also features Stefania Casini, Flavio Bucci, Miguel Bosé, Alida Valli, Udo Kier, and Joan Bennett, in her final film role. ''Suspiria'' is a 2018 supernatural horror film directed by Luca Guadagnino from a screenplay by David Kajganich, inspired by Dario Argento's Suspiria, 1977 Italian film of the same name. It stars Dakota Johnson as an American woman who enrolls at a prestigious dance academy in Berlin run by a coven of witches. Tilda Swinton co-stars in three roles, as the company's lead choreographer, as a male psychotherapist involved in the academy, and as the leader of the coven. Suspiria (1977 Soundtrack)
The soundtrack to the film ''Suspiria'' was composed and performed by the Italian band Goblin. A single version of the title track, "Suspiria", was released with the B-side "Blind Concert". The title song from the soundtrack was featured in the trailer for the 2011 film ''Jane Eyre''. In 2018, Claudio Simonetti's incarnation of the band went on the ''Suspiria Tour'' to coincide with the release of the film's 2018 remake. The band performed the soundtrack in its entirety with a live screening of the original film. Legacy Due to the film's success and legacy, the soundtrack remains one of Goblin's most popular albums. Luca Guadagnino (; born 10 August 1971) is an Italian film director and producer. His films are characterized by their emotional complexity, eroticism, and lavish visuals. Guadagnino has received numerous accolades, including a Silver Lion, alongside nominations for an Academy Award and three BAFTA Awards. An examination of the process of memory as influenced by hallucinogenic drug use, ''Suspiria'' has been described as one of the best-known and most distinctive literary works of its era. Goblin (band)
Goblin (also Goblin Legacy, Back to the Goblin, New Goblin, Goblin Rebirth, the Goblin Keys, the Goblins and Claudio Simonetti's Goblin) is an Italian progressive rock band known for their film scores. They frequently collaborate with Dario Argento, most notably creating the scores for '' Profondo Rosso'' in 1975 and '' Suspiria'' in 1977.
