Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) is a diamond trade centre located in DREAM City, Surat, Gujarat, India, designed by the architecture firm Morphogenesis. It is the world's largest diamond trading hub with a floor space of , as well as the world's largest office building. The current Chairman is Govind Dholakia and CEO of Surat Diamond Bourse is Mahesh Gadhavi. History The SDB project was launched by the former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Anandiben Patel, after the laying the foundation stone for the construction of the complex, as well as of the Diamond Research and Mercantile City, on 15 February 2015. Though the COVID-19 pandemic slowed the construction progress, the pace was increased after restrictions were lifted. Diamond Research and Mercantile City, also known as DREAM City, is an upcoming business district in Surat, Gujarat, India. It will be built on of land near Khajod, along the lines of the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City and Dholera Smart city near Ahmedabad. Expected to open in 2030, it will be Gujarat's third smart city. Description The district is projected to have office space, residential areas, and facilities for these residential areas. Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) is the world's largest diamond bourse (exchange) and is located in Mumbai, India. Spread over a plot, the complex is home to some 2,500 small and large diamond traders in addition to the Custom House, banks and other service providers who cater to the gems and jewelry trade.
