Magnús Ólafsson (actor)
Magnús Ólafsson (born 17 February 1946) is an Icelandic actor, comedian, singer and former handball player. A veteran stage and film actor of several decades, he is best known for his performance of the character ''Bjössi Bolla'' which was created when he was a member of the comedy band Sumargleðin in the early 1980's along with Ragnar Bjarnason, Ómar Ragnarsson, Bessi Bjarnason and Þorgeir Ástvaldsson. With Sumargleðin, he sang the hit song '' Prins Póló'' in 1981. Handball career Magnús played as a goalkepper for FH's handball team for several season, winning the Icelandic championship in 1974 and 1976 and the Icelandic Cup for three straight years from 1975 to 1977. Ragnar Bjarnason
Ragnar Bjarnason, also known as Raggi Bjarna, (22 September 1934 – 25 February 2020) was an Icelandic singer. He was born in a small attic apartment at Lækjargata 12a in Reykjavík. He is the son of Bjarni Böðvarsson, a conductor of a renowned orchestra and Lára Magnúsdóttir a famous singer and also long-time singer in a church choir. Ragnar started as a drummer in his father's band at the age of 13. At 16 he sang with Sigurður Ólafsson and by the age of 20 had his own albums. In 1955–1956, he became vocalist of Hljómsveit Svavars Gests (a relation that would go on until 1960) and in 1956, became a singer with KK sextet that continued until 1959. At the time, he released albums of his own. After spending few years abroad, he returned in 1964. He rejoined Svavar briefly, before forming his own band in 1965 when Svavar's orchestra stopped performing. The band played for 19 consecutive years at Hótel Saga. Ómar Ragnarsson
Ómar Þorfinnur Ragnarsson (born 16 September 1940) is an Icelandic environment activist and former entertainer, news reporter and Rallying, rally driver. Born in Reykjavík, Ómar began acting on stage at the age of 12 and started his career as a stand-up comedian when he was 18. He has written a considerable number of songs and lyrics, performed by him or other Icelandic pop artists. Ómar studied law and has been a professional aviator and pilot since 1967. He worked as a TV reporter for RUV Channel 1 from 1969–1988, for TV Channel 2 from 1988–1995, and again for RUV from 1995. Later he started his own film production, mainly on nature and environmental issues in Iceland, Norway and the USA. He has also written 10 books in Iceland. Hermann Gunnarsson (9 December 1946 – 4 June 2013) commonly referred to by his nickname, Hemmi Gunn, was an Icelandic television and radio personality, performer and former football and handball player at an international level. Hermann is known as one of Iceland's greats both in football and handball. He also played basketball at club level (with Valur, as in football and handball), but never played a national game in that sport. Media personality Hermann is also famous for hosting the top-rated talk show Á tali hjá Hemma Gunn on the public TV channel Sjónvarpið for many years in the 1980s and 1990s. ''DV'' (''Dagblaðið Vísir'') is an online newspaper in Iceland published by Torg ehf. It came into existence as a daily newspaper in 1981 when two formerly independent newspapers, Vísir and Dagblaðið, merged. Early on it was one of the largest newspapers in Iceland and at one point had a 64% readership in Iceland. In the 1990s its readership started to dwindle and in 2003 its publisher was declared bankrupt. It was resurrected a week later by the publisher of Fréttablaðið. In 2006 it was changed from a daily newspaper into a weekly one. Since then it has changed publishers regularly and in 2018 its publisher, DV ehf., went bankrupt. Þórhallur Sigurðsson (born 20 January 1947), best known as Laddi, is an Icelandic comedian, actor, voice actor and entertainer known for comedy music and comedy acting. Haraldur Sigurðsson (comedian)
Haraldur Sigurðsson or Haraldur Sigurdsson (born May 31, 1939) is an Icelandic volcanologist and geochemist. Education Sigurdsson was born in Stykkishólmur in western Iceland. He studied geology and geochemistry in the United Kingdom, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from Queen's University, Belfast, followed by a PhD under the supervision of George Malcolm Brown from Durham University in 1970.
