Sultan Qaboos University
Sultan Qaboos University, located in Al Seeb in the Muscat Governorate, is one of the two public universities in the Sultanate of Oman. Most students entering the university are selected based on their performance in high school final examinations. Student enrollment has grown from 500 in 1986 to more than 10,000 in 2005. More than half of the students live off campus due to space constraints. It currently has around 15,357 students of which 7,942 are female students and 7,415 are male students. Rumaitha Al Busaidi
Rumaitha Al Busaidi is an Omani climate change activist, women's rights activist, radio presenter, marine scientist, entrepreneur and footballer. She is regarded as the first female football analyst in the Arab World and also became the youngest Omani woman to cross South Pole. She is also widely popularly regarded as one of the prominent radio personalities in Oman. Career Rumaitha obtained diploma from the University of Delaware in 2005. Sheikha Aisha bint Khalfan bin Jameel al-Sayabiyah was appointed the President of Public Authority for Craft Industries, Oman in 2003. Early life Khalfan was born in Samail town, the youngest in a family with eleven children. She attended the Sultan Qaboos University, from where she graduated with a degree in arts in 1995. Career After finishing her education, Khalfan worked as a teacher.
