Sugathadasa Stadium
Sugathadasa Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is currently used for football (soccer), football, Rugby union, rugby union, and Athletics in Jamaica, athletics. The stadium holds 25,000 people and has an on-site hotel. History The concept of an outdoor sporting stadium was initially raised by V. A. Sugathadasa, the Mayor of Colombo#List of Mayors, Mayor of Colombo (1956–57, 1963–65), the country's first Ministry of Sports (Sri Lanka)#List of Sports Ministers, Minister of Sports (1966–70) and Chairman of the National Olympic and Commonwealth Games Committee. Construction of the stadium commenced on 16 January 1957 and was completed on 16 December 1962. The stadium was named after Sugathadasa, as he donated the land it was built on. In 1991, an indoor stadium was constructed on the site by the Mitsui Company for the 1991 South Asian Games, and was opened by President Ranasinghe Premadasa. Bung Karno Stadium
Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (; literally "Bung Karno Sports Arena Main Stadium"), formerly Senayan Main Stadium and Gelora Senayan Main Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium located at the center of the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex in Central Jakarta, Indonesia. J. P. Dayasiri Padma Kumara Jayasekara (born 12 June 1969) is a Sri Lankan politician and Member of Parliament. He is the District Leader of the SLFP for the Kurunegala District and Organizer for the Paduwasnuwara Electorate. Jayasekara is a Member of Parliament from the Kurunegala District of the North Western Province. Jayasekara is known as an advocate of progressive socio-economic policy. He previously served as Chief Minister of the North Western Province between 2013 and 2015 and as Minister of Sports between 2015 and 2018.
