Suffolk Show
The Suffolk Show is an annual County shows in the United Kingdom, show that takes place aTrinity Park on the eastern edge of Ipswich in the Purdis Farm area of the English county of Suffolk. It is organised by the Suffolk Agricultural Association, which was established in 1831 (registered charity no. 288595). Cancellations * The Suffolk Show was cut short in 2012 due to high winds, resulting in a loss of at least £500,000 in revenue. The Suffolk show offered refunds to ticket-holders and traders for the cancelled second day, a decision which the show's committee and executive board agreed upon unanimously. * Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Suffolk Show was canceled in 2020 and 2021. In 2022, it returned with Royal Air Force, RAF and British Army, Army parachute displays, 600 trade stands, and 12 competition rings. County Shows In The United Kingdom
In the United Kingdom, a county show is a summer outdoor agricultural show. The events have competitions, with prizes awarded by judges, allowing farmers and breeders to show off their cattle or crops. There are many trade stands which offer the latest farming machinery, feeds, fertilisers and other farming products. Other trade stands and activities have been added to make the shows more attractive to locals and visitors. Often there are features such as showjumping, funfairs, falconry, military displays and food exhibitions. In the early years these shows used to be held in different locations each year, but in the 1960s the local agricultural societies started to buy land to create permanent showgrounds. Ipswich () is a port town and Borough status in the United Kingdom, borough in Suffolk, England. It is the county town, and largest in Suffolk, followed by Lowestoft and Bury St Edmunds, and the third-largest population centre in East Anglia, after Peterborough and Norwich. Purdis Farm
Purdis Farm is a civil parish, in the East Suffolk district, in the English county of Suffolk. It is located on the eastern edge of Ipswich and includes areas of suburban housing and industrial development along the A1156, including the area of Warren Heath. In 2001 the population of the area was 1743, the population increasing to 2,092 at the 2011 Census. English County
The counties of England are a type of subdivision of England. Counties have been used as administrative areas in England since Anglo-Saxon times. There are three definitions of county in England: the 48 ceremonial counties used for the purposes of lieutenancy; the 84 metropolitan and non-metropolitan counties for local government; and the 39 historic counties. In most cases a ceremonial county shares its name with a local government county, but often covering a wider area.
