Subhash Rajan Naik
Subhash alias Rajan Kashinath Naik is an Indian politician and businessman. He is a former member of the Goa Legislative Assembly. Naik is also a former football player, excelling as a defender for his village team. Prior to his successful stint as the MLA of the Cuncolim Assembly constituency, he served as a two-time Cuncolim Municipal councilor. Cuncolim is a town in South Goa district in the state of Goa, India. Etymology The name 'Cuncolim' is derived from the fact that the village was known as 'Kumkumahalli', the place where '' kumkuma '' (vermilion) is produced. Geography Cuncolim is located at . It has an average elevation of . History It is a former village, now with a municipal council of its own, in the south Goa sub-district (''taluka'') of Salcette, India. It is part of the AVC (Assolna-Velim-Cuncolim) network of villages. Historically, there are twelve ''Vangodds'' (clans) of ''Ganvkars'' (landlords) in the village.
