SubHuman
''SubHuman'' (stylized as ''subHuman'') is the sixth studio album by Recoil. Alan Wilder stated in a YouTube greeting that there would be a new album coming in spring or early summer 2007. On 23 April 2007, he released information regarding the album via Myspace and his official website, Shunt. "subHuman" was released on 9 July 2007, in Europe and 14 August 2007, in the US. It was made available in several formats, including standard CD, gatefold vinyl, and a special CD/DVD edition. The CD/DVD edition featured stereo, 5.1 surround, and exclusive "ambient" mixes. Additionally, the DVD included all music videos that were produced at the time of the album's release. Working with Wilder on this album was New Orleans native bluesman Joe Richardson, who contributed vocals, guitar, and harmonica. Recoil (band)
Recoil is a musical project created by English musician and former Depeche Mode member Alan Wilder. Essentially a solo venture, Recoil began whilst Wilder was still in Depeche Mode as an outlet for his experimental, less pop-oriented compositions. Once he announced his departure from the group in 1995, Recoil became Wilder's primary musical enterprise. History 1980s and 1990s Recoil began in 1986, when Daniel Miller (record producer and founder of Mute Records) heard some of Alan Wilder's demo recordings, which he had made on a 4-track cassette Portastudio. These recordings were substantially different from anything Depeche Mode had released—whilst they were still created using synthesizers and sampling, they featured little of Depeche Mode's catchy pop songwriting, instead opting for an experimental, John Cage-esque style. Selected (album)
''Selected'' is the first compilation album released by the British musical project Recoil, fronted by Alan Wilder, released on April 19, 2010. The album features an eclectic mixture of vocalists including Diamanda Galás, Joe Richardson, Douglas McCarthy, Samantha Coerbell, Siobhan Lynch, Toni Halliday, Nicole Blackman, Maggie Estep and Carla Trevaskis. The tracks on ''Selected'' were chosen by Wilder who explained that the collection was made up of "his personal favourites, remastered and edited together into what I consider a cohesive and total listening experience." The tracks have been edited, where appropriate, by Wilder and Paul Kendall and re-mastered with Simon Heyworth at the Super Audio Mastering. ''Liquid'' is the fifth studio album by the British musical project Recoil, released by Mute Records on 21 March 2000. It was recorded at Alan Wilder's home studio, The Thin Line, in Sussex, during sessions that lasted from July 1998 to June 1999. The album was produced by Wilder, with production assistance and co-ordination by Hepzibah Sessa, and additional production and sound design by PK. Background ''Liquid'' music continues in much the same vein as Recoil's previous album, '' Unsound Methods'', but it is considered to be a concept album revolving around a near-death experience in 1994. Wilder and his partner, Hepzibah Sessa, were driving in Scotland and a Tornado Bomber hit a hillside in front of them, and two airmen were killed. Eurythmics
Eurythmics were a British New wave music, new wave duo formed in 1980, consisting of Scottish vocalist Annie Lennox and English musician and producer Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), Dave Stewart. They were both previously in the Tourists, a band that broke up in 1980. They released their first studio album, ''In the Garden (Eurythmics album), In the Garden'', in 1981 to little success, but achieved global acclaim with their second album, ''Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) (album), Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)'' (1983). The Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), title track became a worldwide hit, reaching number two in the UK Singles Chart, and number one in Canada and the US Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Viola
The viola ( , () ) is a string instrument of the violin family, and is usually bowed when played. Violas are slightly larger than violins, and have a lower and deeper sound. Since the 18th century, it has been the middle or alto voice of the violin family, between the violin (which is tuned a perfect fifth higher) and the cello (which is tuned an octave lower). Apollo 440 (also known as Apollo Four Forty or @440) are an English electronic music group formed in Liverpool in 1990. The group have written, recorded and produced five studio albums, collaborated with and produced other artists, remixed as Apollo 440 and as their ambient cinematic alter ego Stealth Sonic Orchestra, and created music for film, television, advertisements and multimedia.
