Jason McDermott (born 15 September 1985 in Spanish Town, Jamaica), better known by his stage name Stylo G, is a British-Jamaican dancehall recording artist known for his three hit singles "My Yout", "Call Mi a Leader" and "Soundbwoy". "Soundbwoy" peaked at number 18 on the UK Singles Chart. He also featured on the hit song " Come Over" by the British electronic group Clean Bandit. He also got famous for his collaboration with Divine for the song "Mirchi". Biography McDermott's family relocated to London at the age of fifteen, following the murder of his father, artist and producer Poison Chang. He currently resides in South London. History Stylo G's first initial hit was a grime song, "My Yout", featuring Stickman and Ice Kid. The song gained some notability within the grime scene. Spanish Town ( jam, label= Jamaican Creole, Panish Tong) is the capital and the largest town in the parish of St. Catherine in the historic county of Middlesex, Jamaica. "Come Over" is a song by British electronic group Clean Bandit. It features British reggae artist Stylo G. Its first release was on 8 August 2014 in Ireland. The song features auto-tuned vocals from band member Grace Chatto. Background In an interview with the Official Charts Company, Clean Bandit violinist Neil Amin-Smith said that the group had the idea of working with a Jamaican vocalist since 2012, when they were in talks with other producers. "Come Over" itself came about after the instrumental had been created and the opportunity to do something with Stylo G came about, and it slotted into place. MOBO Award
The MOBO Awards (Music of Black Origin, also known as the MOBOs) are an annual British music award presentation honouring achievements in " music of black origin", including hip hop, grime, UK Drill, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and African music. The MOBO Organisation was founded by Kanya King, and the first MOBO award was presented to Baby D, in the Best Dance Act category. The inaugural awards were broadcast by Carlton Television from London's Connaught Rooms. British hip hop, also known as UK hip hop or UK rap, is a genre of music, and a culture that covers a variety of styles of hip hop music made in the United Kingdom.
