A captive bolt pistol (also known as a captive bolt gun, a cattle gun, a stunbolt gun, a bolt gun, a stun gun and a stunner) is a device used for the stunning of animals prior to Slaughter (livestock), slaughter. A captive bolt pistol is intended to deliver a single, powerful strike to the forehead of an animal in order to quickly induce unconsciousness. Depending on the variation and usage, the bolt may or may not penetrate the skull and cause direct damage to the brain. The bolt consists of a heavy rod or piston, typically made of a corrosion-resistant material such as stainless steel. A stunner is a professional wrestling move, also a common term in professional wrestling referring to the ¾ facelock jawbreaker maneuver. The innovator of the move has been disputed, as both Mikey Whipwreck (who called it the ''Whippersnapper'') and Michael P.S. Hayes (who called it the ''9-1-1'') have both claimed to be behind the origin of the move. The move was named for Stone Cold Steve Austin's ''Stone Cold Stunner'' finisher, a finisher suggested to him by Hayes. It involves an attacking wrestler applying a three-quarter facelock (reaching back and grabbing the head of an opponent, thus pulling the opponent's jaw above the wrestler's shoulder) before falling to a seated position and forcing the opponent's jaw (but predominantly the opponent's neck) to drop down on the shoulder of the attacking wrestler. Stunner was the site of a Stone Age settlement located near Ski in Akershus County, Norway. Discovery The settlement was first discovered during 1928 on the Stunner farm while Johannes Mikkelsen harvested potatoes. Mikkelsen was a well-read man with a great interest in archaeology. In February 1929 he first collected eight flint pieces for submission to the University of Oslo Museum of National Antiquities. Subsequently, Mikkelsen and his two sons, Hans and Sverre, submitted approximately 700 finds from their farm to the University Museum. Archaeological findings The flint finds from the Stone Age settlement at Stunner reveal that the site was populated around 11,000 years ago. The Stunners were an American girl group formed in Los Angeles in 2007. Originally the members were Allie Gonino, Hayley Kiyoko, Marisol Esparza, Kelsey Sanders, and Tinashe. In July 2009 after the debut single "Bubblegum", Sanders left the group and was replaced by Lauren Hudson. The group disbanded in 2011. Career 2007–2009: Beginning and Sanders departure In 2007, Allie Gonino, Hayley Kiyoko, Kelsey Sanders, Marisol Esparza, and Tinashe became friends and formed the group. Six months later, the group signed with Columbia Records and contributed a song to the ''iCarly'' soundtrack. The debut single wasn't released and, in 2009, the group left Columbia and signed a production deal with Lionsgate Entertainment, who also produced a scripted television show pilot based on the group, which was ordered by MTV.
