The Studio Building is a nine-story building in downtown Portland, Oregon. Built in 1927 by the Ellison-White Conservatory of Music, along with the attached Guild Theatre, the building originally had 128 studios for actors and musicians. The exterior displays busts of famous composers. The street level is occupied by the restaurant Pastini, as of 2010. The Ellison-White Conservatory of Music was a music school, music conservatory in Portland, Oregon, United States, associated with the Ellison-White Lyceum (classical), Lyceum and Chautauqua Association. The conservatory advertised itself as "answering a need" for a "Standard Conservatory of the Fine Arts" on the West Coast of the United States, U.S. West Coast. Guild Theatre (Portland, Oregon)
The Guild Theatre (originally the Taylor Street Theatre) is a historic former theater building in downtown Portland, Oregon, in the United States. The theater was completed and opened in 1927. It closed in 2006 and was converted for retail use in 2018–2019. Since 2019, a Kinokuniya bookstore has occupied the space. History The Guild was the last remaining single-screen theater in Downtown Portland, completed in 1927. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the Guild screened classic films, advertised as "Oregon's finest film classics theater". Later, it changed to showing second-run films.
