Strömsund (; ) is a locality and the seat of Strömsund Municipality in Jämtland County, Sweden with 3,589 inhabitants in 2010. The church (''Ströms kyrka'') was inaugurated in 1847.The Grand Hotel dates to 1909. The Court House (''Tingshuset'') was inaugurated in 1911 and was designed by architect Frans Bertil Wallberg (1862–1935). Strömsund railway station was built in 1913. It is on a branch line from Ulriksfors at the Inland Line. Strömsund Bridge (''Strömsundsbron''), a cable-stayed road bridge, bringing European route E45 over Ströms vattudal in Strömsund, opened in 1956. Inland Line
The Inland Line () is a railway line between Kristinehamn and Gällivare in Sweden. It runs through the central parts of northern Sweden, and was built between 1908 and 1937. History There were several reasons for constructing the railway. The original main line to the north of Sweden ran relatively near the east coast, but inland connections were poor to non-existent; the inland regions, rich in natural resources (mainly timber) needed opening up. However, there was a strategic aspect to be considered; should Sweden be invaded from the east (which at the time was a serious possibility) the belligerents would certainly try to cut the main line to the north as quickly as possible; thus a second reserve route further inland was deemed highly important. Per Johan Axel Åhlin (7 August 1931 – 1 May 2023) was a Swedish artist and director of animated films. He is known for his collaborations with the comedy duo Hasse & Tage and for his own projects such as the animated short film and television film ''Sagan om Karl-Bertil Jonssons julafton'' and the feature film ''The Journey to Melonia, Voyage to Melonia''. Life and career Åhlin started his career as an artist for the Hasse & Tage production ''Svenska bilder'' from 1964.
