Zagreb ( , , , ) is the capital and largest city of Croatia. It is in the northwest of the country, along the Sava river, at the southern slopes of the Medvednica mountain. Zagreb stands near the international border between Croatia and Slovenia at an elevation of approximately above sea level. At the 2021 census, the city had a population of 767,131. Sveta Nedelja or, until 1991, Sveta Nedjelja () is a town in Zagreb County, Croatia. It is one of the provincial satellite towns in Zagreb's metropolitan region. Geography Sveta Nedelja is situated west of Zagreb near the town of Samobor. It has an exit on the A3 motorway, which passes northwest-southeast through the town, and Franjo Tuđman Street going east-west towards the Podsused Bridge. Samobor
Samobor () is a city in Zagreb County, Croatia. It is part of the Zagreb metropolitan area. Administratively it is a part of Zagreb County. Geography Samobor is located west of Zagreb, between the eastern slopes of the Samobor hills ( hr, Samoborsko gorje), the eastern part of Žumberak Mountains, in the Sava River valley. It is part of the historical region of Croatia proper. Administration The city government, court, police, health service, and a post office are part of the Samobor infrastructure. The Croatian Bureau of Statistics ( hr, Državni zavod za statistiku or DZS) is the Croatian national statistics bureau. History The bureau was formed in 1875 in Austria-Hungary as the ''Zemaljski statistički ured'' for the Kingdom of Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia. In 1924, the bureau was renamed to the ''Statistical Office in Zagreb'' (''Statistički ured u Zagrebu''). In 1929, after royal monarchy was proclaimed in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes the bureau lost its financial and technical independence. In 1939 with the formation of the Banovina of Croatia, the office was made subject to the presidential office on the Ban's administration. In 1941 the Independent State of Croatia was formed and an ''Office of General State Statistics'' existed during this time under the control of the presidential government.
