Stormé DeLarverie ( December 24, 1920 – May 24, 2014) was an American woman known as the Butch and femme, butch lesbian whose scuffle with police was, according to DeLarverie and many eyewitnesses, the spark that ignited the Stonewall riots, Stonewall uprising, spurring the crowd to action. Henrietta Hudson
Henrietta Hudson, originally named Henrietta Hudson Bar & Girl, is a queer restaurant and lounge in Manhattan's West Village neighborhood. It operated as a lesbian bar from 1991 to 2014. Until it rebranded in 2021, it was one of three remaining lesbian bars in New York City. Henrietta Hudson's location is the original location of the Cubbyhole bar, which had the distinction of being lesbian-owned and managed. A stone butch is a lesbian who displays female butchness or traditional "masculinity" and who does not allow their genitals to be touched during sexual activity, as opposed to a stone femme. EuroPride is a pan-European international event dedicated to LGBT pride, hosted by a different European city each year.
