''Selected Ambient Works Volume II'' (abbreviated as ''SAW II'') is the second studio album by the British electronic music artist and producer Aphex Twin, Richard D. James under the alias Aphex Twin. It was released on 7March 1994 through Warp Records. Following James's ambient techno debut ''Selected Ambient Works 85–92'', ''Volume II'' features purely ambient music. James was inspired by lucid dreaming and likened the album to "standing in a power station on Lysergic acid diethylamide, acid." Most of the tracks on ''Selected Ambient Works Volume II'' were untitled and represented with abstract photographs and pie charts. Fan-named, unofficial titles are still widely used today. The album received mixed reviews upon release; critics mainly criticised its largely beatless composition and the repetition throughout. The record entered the Chart Information Network, 's UK Dance Singles and Albums Charts, Dance Albums Chart at No.1 and the UK Albums Chart, Albums Chart at No.11. ...

Richard David James (born 18 August 1971), known professionally as Aphex Twin, is a British musician, composer and DJ active in electronic music since 1988. Lysergic acid diethylamide, commonly known as LSD (from German ; often referred to as acid or lucy), is a Semisynthesis, semisynthetic, Hallucinogen, hallucinogenic compound derived from ergot, known for its powerful psychological effects and Serotonin, serotonergic activity. It was historically significant in psychiatry and 1960s counterculture; it is currently legally restricted but experiencing renewed scientific interest and increasing use. When taken orally, LSD has an onset of action within 0.4 to 1.0 hours (range: 0.1–1.8 hours) and a duration of effect lasting 7 to 12 hours (range: 4–22 hours). It is commonly administered via tabs of Blotting paper, blotter paper. LSD is extremely potent, with noticeable effects at doses as low as 20 Microgram, micrograms and is sometimes taken in much smaller amounts for microdosing. R&S Records is an independent record label founded in 1983 in Ghent, Belgium. R&S represents the initials of Renaat Vandepapeliere and Sabine Maes, the couple that created the label. R&S Records has had several subsidiaries, most notably Apollo Records, which was reactivated in 2009. R&S and its subsidiaries include releases by Lone, Paula Temple, Joey Beltram, Capricorn, Aphex Twin, Biosphere, C.J. Bolland, Sun Electric, The Source Experience/Robert Leiner, Model 500/Juan Atkins, Silent Phase, System 7, Dave Angel, and Ken Ishii.
