Stockport RUFC
Stockport Rugby Union Football Club is a rugby union club based in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. They play in Regional 1 North West, following their promotion from North 1 West in 2021–22. History Stockport RUFC was founded in 1923 as Davenport R.U.F.C, the name changing in 1992. The club has made its way up the rugby pyramid in recent seasons, having been as low as the old North West 3 league at one point in the mid-1990s. In 2006 the club won the Powergen Intermediate Cup, 11–6 versus Morley, where Mike Raven was awarded man of the match after a dazzling display at Twickenham. During that successful season the club finished 1st in the North 2 West League gaining promotion to National 3 North. In 2011, Stockport were crowned champions of National 3 North gaining promotion to National 2 North. RFU Intermediate Cup
The RFU Intermediate Cup is a rugby union national knockout cup competition in England run by the Rugby Football Union. It is contested by teams at level 7 of the English rugby union system. While the competition is a national one, it is however split into regions until the semi-finals with the final being held at Twickenham Stadium in London. It was first contested in 1997. Presently, the RFU Intermediate Cup is the third most important club cup competition in England, behind the Premiership Rugby Cup and RFU Championship Cup. The Bootleg Beatles are a Beatles tribute band. They have performed over 4,000 times since their establishment in March 1980. History The Bootleg Beatles were formed by Andre Barreau, Neil Harrison and David Catlin-Birch, fellow London cast members of ''Beatlemania'', following the final show of the West End musical. The band invested in Epiphone and Gretsch guitars and two Vox amplifiers, four black polo-necks, and a wig. Their first performance was at a small student gathering in Tiverton, Devon, England. Fairport Convention are an English British folk rock, folk rock band, formed in 1967 by guitarists Richard Thompson (musician), Richard Thompson and Simon Nicol, bassist Ashley Hutchings and drummer Shaun Frater (with Frater replaced by Martin Lamble after their first gig). They started out influenced by American folk rock, with a set list dominated by Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell songs and a sound that earned them the nickname "the British Jefferson Airplane". Francella Ruby Turner MBE (born 22 June 1958) is a British Jamaican R&B and soul singer, songwriter, and actress. In a music career spanning more than 40 years, Turner is best known for her album and single releases in Europe and North America. Paul Jones (singer)
Paul Jones (born Paul Adrian Pond, 24 February 1942) is an English singer, actor, harmonicist, radio personality and television presenter. He first came to prominence as the original lead singer and harmonicist of the rock band Manfred Mann (1962–66) with whom he had several hit records including " Do Wah Diddy Diddy" ( UK #1, US #1) and " Pretty Flamingo" (UK #1). After leaving the band, Jones established a solo career and starred as a deified pop star in the 1967 film '' Privilege''. In 1979, he formed The Blues Band, and toured with them until their breakup in 2022. Procol Harum () were an English rock music, rock band formed in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, in 1967.
