Stine Maiken Brix (born 3 April 1982 in Glostrup) is a Danish politician, who was a member of the Folketing for the Red–Green Alliance from 2011 to 2019. Political career Brix was first elected into parliament at the 2011 Danish general election, where she received 2,667. The Folketing ( , ), also known as the Parliament of Denmark or the Danish Parliament in English, is the unicameral national legislature (parliament) of the Kingdom of Denmark — Denmark proper together with the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Established in 1849, the Folketing was the lower house of the bicameral parliament called the Rigsdag until 1953; the upper house was the Landsting. The Folketing meets in Christiansborg Palace, on the islet of Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen. It passes all laws, approves the cabinet, and supervises the work of the government. North Jutland () is one of the 12 multi-member constituencies of the Folketing, the national legislature of Denmark. The constituency was established in 2007 following the public administration structural reform. Glostrup is a Denmark, Danish town in Capital Region of Denmark, Region Hovedstaden, forming one of the Western suburbs (Copenhagen), western suburbs of Copenhagen. It is the administrative seat of Glostrup Municipality, with an estimated population of 23,540 . During the 20th century Glostrup developed from a small railroad town into a modern middle class suburb. The population reached a peak during the 1970s flight from central Copenhagen, but has since stabilized. While most of Copenhagens western suburbs are dominated by public housing projects, Glostrups mix is around the Danish average. A series of large companies, e.g. Grontmij's and Motorola's Danish sections, along with NKT Holding and Pandora are situated in the area. Red–Green Alliance (Denmark)
The Red–Green Alliance or Unity List (, , EL) is an Eco-socialism, eco-socialist List of political parties in Denmark, political party in Denmark. It was founded in 1989 with the merger of three Marxism, Marxist parties and is the most left-wing party in the Folketing, where it advocates for the expansion of the welfare state and social justice as well as the socialism, socialist transformation of Denmark and the entire globe. During the 2021 Copenhagen City Council election the party placed first, with 24.6% of the votes. The party is also active in various trade unions within Denmark.
