Stewart is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Montgomery County, Mississippi, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 99. The Stewart Volunteer Fire Department is located in Stewart. History The Georgia Pacific Railway completed a line through Stewart in late 1880s. By 1906, Stewart had a post office and a population of 200. A bed of iron ore located north of Stewart was mined during the 1950s, and shipped by railway to Birmingham, Alabama for processing. Stewart Grand Prix was a Formula One constructor and racing team founded by triple Formula One champion Jackie Stewart and his son Paul Stewart (racing driver), Paul Stewart in 1996. Stewartstown is a borough in York County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,125 at the time of the 2020 census. It is part of the York–Hanover metropolitan area. History There were settlers in the Stewartstown area as early as 1750. This part of southern York County was claimed by both Maryland and Pennsylvania, and the boundary dispute was settled by the surveying of the Mason–Dixon Line in 1767. By 1777, a road had been well established between York and Baltimore, and Stewartstown's main street of today lies along a portion of the road. Around 1812, a group of farmers set out to establish a town in south central Hopewell Township.
