Stevo Karapandža
Stevo Karapandža ( sr-Cyrl, Стево Карапанџа) born 13th September 1947 is a Yugoslavian, Croatian and Serbian celebrity chef. With Ivo Serdar, and later Oliver Mlakar, he co-hosted the popular Yugoslav weekly cooking show ''Little Secrets of Great Chefs'' produced by TV Zagreb starting in 1974. At the start of the Yugoslav Wars in 1991, he received numerous threats from Croatian nationalists because of his Serbs of Croatia, Serb origins. He then left Zagreb for Italy and settled in Switzerland, where he lived 24 years and operated a restaurant in Ennetbaden before retiring. Vegeta (food)
Vegeta is a brand of savoury seasonings of dehydrated vegetables, spices, and MSG, produced by Croatian food company Podravka. It is considered a staple of Eastern European cuisine. The product was originally developed at Podravka's labs in Koprivnica, then part of Yugoslavia, in 1958. Zlata Bartl, a Bosnian Croat chemical technician who created a popular line of dehydrated soup packets, led the team that developed Vegeta. It was first sold in 1959 under the name "Vegeta 40", and first exported in 1967 to Hungary and the Soviet Union. Vegeta has been produced by Podravka in Koprivnica since its introduction, and is also manufactured in Poland, Austria, Hungary, and Tanzania. Vegeta was a commercial success for Podravka and led to an economic boom in Koprivnica. Podravka d.d. is a Croatian food company based in Koprivnica. Founded in 1934, today it is one of the largest food companies in Southeast Europe. History 1934–1990 The brothers Marijan and Matija Wolf founded the company on 14 June 1934. At the time, the firm was a fruit factory. When the Communism, communists under Josip Broz Tito, Tito took power in 1947 the company was Nationalization, nationalized and received its current name.
