Steve Irwin
Stephen Robert Irwin (22 February 19624 September 2006), known as "the Crocodile Hunter", was an Australian zookeeper, Conservation movement, conservationist, television personality, wildlife educator, and environmentalist. Irwin grew up around crocodiles and other types of reptiles and was educated regarding them by his father, Bob Irwin, Bob. He achieved international fame in the late 1990s from the television series ''The Crocodile Hunter'', an internationally broadcast wildlife documentary series that he co-hosted with his wife, Terri Irwin, Terri. The couple also hosted the series ''Croc Files'', ''The Crocodile Hunter Diaries'', and ''New Breed Vets''. ''Crikey steveirwini'' is a species of air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Camaenidae. ''Crikey steveirwini'' is the only species in the genus ''Crikey''. Etymology The specific name ''steveirwini'' is in memory of Australian wildlife expert Steve Irwin, who died from a stingray injury in 2006. MY Steve Irwin
The MY ''Steve Irwin'' is a motor vessel that previously was the flagship of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, and was used in their direct action campaigns against whaling and against illegal fisheries activities. The vessel was built in 1975 and formerly served as a Scottish Fisheries Protection Agency conservation enforcement patrol boat, the FPV ''Westra'', for 28 years. Sea Shepherd had originally christened the vessel the MV ''Robert Hunter'' after Canadian Robert Hunter, co-founder of Greenpeace, but it was renamed in honor of ''The Crocodile Hunter'' star Steve Irwin, who had died just over a year earlier, on September 4, 2006. ''Ocean's Deadliest'' is a 2007 nature documentary hosted by Philippe Cousteau Jr. and Steve Irwin. It was the final documentary made by Irwin before his death, which occurred during filming.
