Steve Clarke
Stephen Clarke (born 29 August 1963) is a Scottish professional football manager and former player who is the manager of the Scotland national team. Clarke played for St Mirren, Chelsea and the Scotland national team, winning three major trophies with Chelsea towards the end of his career. After retiring as a player, he moved into coaching and worked at Newcastle United, Chelsea, West Ham United and Liverpool. Clarke has since managed West Bromwich Albion and Reading. After a spell coaching at Aston Villa, Clarke was appointed Kilmarnock manager in October 2017 and led them to a European place with a club record points total in his only full season in charge. In May 2019, he was appointed manager of the Scotland national team. He led the team to qualifications for UEFA Euro 2020, their first major tournament for 23 years, and UEFA Euro 2024. 1998 Football League Cup Final
The 1998 Football League Cup Final was a football match played between Chelsea and Middlesbrough on 29 March 1998 at Wembley Stadium. Chelsea, under new manager Gianluca Vialli, won with two extra time goals and won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup later that season. Middlesbrough's second consecutive defeat in the final was followed by promotion back to the Premier League after just one season. Both teams were restricted to shots from distance. This all changed in extra time when Chelsea took control. Frank Sinclair, a villain in the 1994 FA Cup Final defeat when conceding a penalty and slipping to allow Mark Hughes to score, became the hero in this match. Paul Clarke (Scottish Footballer)
Paul Clarke (born 11 October 1956) is a Scottish former semi-professional footballer who played for Kilmarnock as a centre-back. Career Clarke spent some time in the youth team ''Kilmarnock Star'' alongside future team-mate at senior level, Stuart McLean, and had a loan spell in the Junior leagues with local Ardrossan Winton Rovers after signing provisionally with Kilmarnock. His debut for ''Killie'' was versus Partick Thistle at Rugby Park in the Scottish League Cup on 9 August 1975, he scored Kilmarnock's first goal in the Premier Division format on 4 September 1976 at home to Motherwell, and his final game was also at home versus Ayrshire derby rivals Ayr United in a league match on 3 May 1986.
