Steve Bendelack
Steve Bendelack is an English filmmaker and television director who has worked primarily on comedy programmes. Originally an assistant to Peter Fluck and Roger Law on satirical TV puppet show ''Spitting Image'', Bendelack went on to direct the show in later years. He directed ''The Mary Whitehouse Experience'', ''The Royle Family'', ''The League of Gentlemen'', ''Dark Ages (TV series), Dark Ages'', ''Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)'', ''Cowards (TV series), Cowards'' and the first series of ''Little Britain (sketch show), Little Britain''. He directed the BBC3 pilot for The Mighty Boosh (TV series), ''The Mighty Boosh'' in 2003, but was replaced by Paul King (director), Paul King for the series proper. The Mighty Boosh (TV Series)
''The Mighty Boosh'' is a British surreal comedy television series created by Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding. Starring the comedy troupe The Mighty Boosh, it often featured elaborate musical numbers in different genres, such as electro, heavy metal, funk and rap. The series is known for popularising a style called "crimping", short ''a cappella'' songs which are present throughout all three series. Julian Barratt wrote the music within the show, and performed it with Noel Fielding. Fielding also designed many of the show's graphics and artwork. Paul King (director)
Paul Thomas King (born July 29, 1978) is an English screenwriter and director. He works in television, film and theatre, and specialises in comedy. He directed all 20 episodes of the BBC surreal comedy series '' The Mighty Boosh'' (2004–2007), and in 2005 he earned a British Academy Television Award nomination for Best New Director. His work on the family comedy films '' Paddington'' (2014) and its 2017 sequel both earned him British Academy Film Award nominations for Best British Film and Best Adapted Screenplay. In 2023, he directed and co-wrote '' Wonka'', a film which serves as a backstory to the literary character Willy Wonka and explores his early days as a chocolatier.
