Static-X is an American industrial metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1994. The line-up has fluctuated over the years, but was long-held constant with band founder, frontman, vocalist and rhythm guitarist Wayne Static until his death in 2014. The band was founded by Static and original drummer Ken Jay. They rose to fame with their 1999 debut album '' Wisconsin Death Trip'' where their heavy industrial metal sound attracted attention within the burgeoning nu metal movement of the late 1990s, with the album eventually going platinum in the United States. The band released five more albums over the course of the next decade: ''Machine'' in 2001, ''Shadow Zone'' in 2003, ''Start a War'' in 2005, ''Cannibal'' in 2007, and '' Cult of Static'' in 2009. Tony Campos
Antonio Campos (born March 8, 1973) is an American musician. He is the current bassist for the industrial metal bands Static-X and Fear Factory and the vocalist and bassist for the extreme metal band Asesino. He has previously played with Prong (band), Prong, Soulfly, Ministry (band), Ministry, and Possessed (band), Possessed. Following the death of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Wayne Static and the resurrection of Static-X, Campos is the longest-serving member of the group and the only one to appear on every album. Career Campos was part of the original lineup of Static-X, playing bass and performing backing vocals on all of the group's studio albums. Along with Wayne Static, he was one of the legal owners of the Static-X name, even though he did not participate in the band's temporary reunion from 2012 to 2013. ''Pighammer'' is the only solo album by American musician Wayne Static, released on October 4, 2011, through Dirthouse Records, and the final album released during his lifetime. It debuted at number 97 on the ''Billboard'' 200 with first-week sales of 4,700. ''Start a War'' is the fourth studio album by American industrial metal band Static-X, released on June 14 2005. A special version was shipped with an additional DVD titled ''X-Rated''. It is the last album for 15 years to feature Ulrich Wild as a producer and/or a mixer, until ''Project Regeneration Vol. 1, Project: Regeneration Vol. 1'' in 2020. Album information This is the first studio album with drumming provided by Nick Oshiro, and the second and last album that guitarist Tripp Eisen wrote and performed on. The album marks the return of former guitarist Koichi Fukuda, who helped with the programming, and according to Static-X's online forums, Fukuda completed additional guitar parts in three songs left unfinished by Eisen.
