Harold Stassen
Harold Edward Stassen (April 13, 1907 – March 4, 2001) was an American politician who was the 25th Governor of Minnesota. He was a leading candidate for the Republican nomination for President of the United States in 1948, considered for a time to be the front-runner. He thereafter regularly continued to run for that and other offices, such that his name became most identified with his status as a perennial candidate. Born in West St. Paul, Minnesota, Stassen was elected as the county attorney of Dakota County, Minnesota after graduating from the University of Minnesota. He won election as Governor of Minnesota in 1938. Stassen is the youngest person elected to that office. He gave the keynote address at the 1940 Republican National Convention. Franz Stassen
Franz Stassen (12 February 1869, Hanau – 18 April 1949, Berlin) was a German painter and illustrator. Life Educated at the Berlin University of the Arts, Stassen worked within the German Jugendstil tradition, inspired by artist such as Max Klinger, Gustav Klimt and other symbolist painters. He is best known for illustrating the works of Richard Wagner, particularly ''Der Ring des Nibelungen'' and ''Parsifal''. Stassen was a friend of Wagner's son Siegfried and closely associated with the nationalistic Bayreuth Circle, centered around the Bayreuth Festival. His Wagner illustrations were popular in Wilhelmine Germany and widely reproduced. They have been said to anticipate the heroic American Comic book style. His elaborate incorporation of musical staves and leitmotifs into his illustrations have also been commented upon. Stassen joined the NSDAP in 1930. Laurence Jeanne Arnoldine Joseph Stassen (born 8 February 1971, in Sittard) is an independent Dutch politician and a former freelance television presenter of the regional broadcasting TV Limburg. There she presented the program sponsored ''Limburg Leeft'' (translated: ''Limburg Lives'') about residency and life in Limburg. In the 2009 European Parliament elections, Stassen was ranked as fourth on the Party for Freedom (PVV) list. The PVV won four seats, but the lower-ranked party leader Geert Wilders was elected by preference votes. Wilders, however, had already declared that he would remain in the House of Representatives of the Netherlands and not take up his seat in the European Parliament, thus Stassen became a Member of the European Parliament on 14 July 2009. Ben Stassen is a Belgian film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for directing and producing several computer-animated films such as '' A Turtle's Tale: Sammy's Adventures'' (2010), '' Robinson Crusoe'' (2016), and '' The Queen's Corgi'' (2019). Jean-Philippe Stassen (born 14 March 1966 in Liège, Belgium) is a Belgian comics creator best known for '' Deogratias: A Tale of Rwanda''. Biography Born in Liège to a Flemish father and a Jewish mother, Jean-Philippe Stassen started travelling at a young age. He travelled through Algeria, Morocco, Senegal, Mali, Benin, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Niger, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, South Africa, Tanzania, Mozambique, Uganda, Burundi and Rwanda. His experiences have been an influence throughout his work. He was introduced to the magazine ''L'Écho des Savanes'' when he was 17 years old. Glen Harold Stassen (February 29, 1936 – April 26, 2014) was an American ethicist and Baptist theologian. He was known for his work on theological ethics, political philosophy, and social justice and for developing the Just Peacemaking Theory regarding the comparative ethics of war and peace. A patronymic surname is a surname originated from the given name of the father or a patrilineal ancestor. Different cultures have different ways of producing patronymic surnames.
