''Starlog'' was an American monthly science fiction magazine that was created in 1976 and focused primarily on ''Star Trek'' at its inception. Kerry O'Quinn and Norman Jacobs were its creators and it was published by Starlog Group, Inc. in August 1976. ''Starlog'' was one of the first publications to report on the development of the first ''Star Wars'' movie, and it followed the development of what was to eventually become '' Star Trek: The Motion Picture'' (1979). ''Starlog'' was born out of the ''Star Trek'' fandom craze, but also was inspired by the success of the magazine ''Cinefantastique'' which was the model of ''Star Trek'' and ''Star Wars'' coverage. Kerry O'Quinn
Kerry O'Quinn is an American writer, magazine publisher, director and producer, most noted for the creation of '' Starlog'', '' Fangoria'', ''Cinemagic'', '' Future Life'', Rock Video, Hard Rock and '' Comics Scene'' magazines. Career O'Quinn was a publisher for ''Future Life'' magazine during the 1980s. O'Quinn produced the ''Star Trek'' 20th Anniversary Convention, the ''Star Wars'' 10th Anniversary Convention, and the Starlog 20th Anniversary Convention. In 2009, an award was named after him, thO'Quinn Award which recognizes "exceptional achievement in the art and craft of the horror film field." O'Quinn himself was the first recipient of the award. Roosevelt Hotel (New York)
The Roosevelt Hotel is a former hotel and a shelter for asylum seekers at 45 East 45th Street in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. Named in honor of U.S. president Theodore Roosevelt, the hotel was developed by the New York Central Railroad and the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad and opened in 1924. The 19-story structure was designed by George B. Post & Son with an Italian Renaissance Revival-style facade, as well as interiors that resembled historical American buildings. The Roosevelt Hotel is one of several large hotels developed around Grand Central Terminal as part of Terminal City. Since 2000, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has owned the structure.
