Starfucker (Slayyyter Album)
''Starfucker'' is the second studio album by American singer Slayyyter. It was released on September 22, 2023. An '80s-influenced electronic pop record, ''Starfucker'' explores a "dramatized" and satirical view of Hollywood, focusing on the culture of drugs, vanity, and celebrity. A deluxe edition of the album was released on December 1, 2023. Slayyyter worked primarily alongside Nicopop, who produced "Clouds" for the album's predecessor. Previous collaborators Valley Girl and Jordan Palmer returned to produce tracks for the album, alongside her touring DJ Owen Jackson, and new collaborators Vaughn Oliver, Aaron Joseph, Baej Lambeux, Jacob Decoteau, and Chris Lyon. Catherine Grace Garner (born September 17, 1996), known professionally as Slayyyter, is an American singer and songwriter. She started her career independently releasing songs through SoundCloud. She released one of her first musical projects "SLATER" on her soundcloud in 2017. The project had 1980s influences. Electroclash (also known as synthcore, retro-electro, tech-pop, nouveau disco, and the new new wave) is a Music genre, genre of popular music that fuses 1980s Electro (music), electro, New wave music, new wave and synth-pop with 1990s techno, retro-style electropop and electronic dance music. Vika Jigulina (born Victoria Corneva; February 18, 1986) is a Moldovan-Romanian record producer, singer, and disc jockey. Early life and education Jigulina was born on February 18, 1986, in Cahul, a city in the Moldavian SSR of the Soviet Union and currently in Moldova. Strfkr (a disemvowelment, as well as the letter C, of "Starfucker"), stylized in all caps, is an American indie rock band from Portland, Oregon. It began in 2007 as a solo project of Joshua Hodges. History Members include Joshua Hodges of Sexton Blake (vocals, keyboards, guitar, drums), Shawn Glassford (bass, keyboards, drums), Keil Corcoran (drums, keyboards, vocals), and Arian Jalali (guitar, keyboards). Boy Harsher is an American electronic music group formed in 2013 in Savannah, Georgia. Currently based in Northampton, Massachusetts, the band consists of vocalist Jae Matthews and producer Augustus Muller. The band has amassed a cult following since their formation, and their song "Pain" has become an underground hit. Matthews and Muller own and run the label Nude Club, which is exclusively devoted to Boy Harsher and related artists.
