Stanislav Ježek
Stanislav Ježek (; born 21 November 1976 in Prague) is a Czech slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 1994. He won eight medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with a gold (C1 team: 2002), a silver (C1 team: 2006), and six bronzes (C1: 2006, C1 team: 2003, 2005, 2007, 2010, 2011). He is the overall World Cup champion in C1 from 1999 and 2011. He also won a total of 7 medals at the European Championships (1 gold, 3 silvers and 3 bronzes). Ježek also competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. In the C1 event, he finished fourth in the qualification round, thus progressing to the semifinals. In the semifinals he finished second, managing to reach the top eight and the final round. In the final he finished fifth. Vavřinec Hradilek
Vavřinec Hradilek (; born 10 March 1987) is a Czech slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2003. Hradilek competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. In the K1 event he finished seventh in the qualification round, thus progressing to the semifinals. In the semifinals he finished eleventh, failing to reach the final round. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London he won a silver medal in the K1 event. He recorded a time of 94.78 seconds in the final which was only beaten by Daniele Molmenti (93.43 s). He also started in the C2 event with Stanislav Ježek where they finished ninth after being eliminated in the semifinals. The 2011 European Canoe Slalom Championships took place in La Seu d'Urgell, Catalonia, Spain between June 9 and June 12, 2011 under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA). Canoeing At The 2008 Summer Olympics – Men's Slalom C-1
The men's C-1 slalom competition in canoeing at the 2008 Summer Olympics took place between August 11 and 12 2008 at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park in Beijing. The C-1 (solo canoe) event was raced by one-man canoes through a whitewater course. There were three rounds of competitions: the heats, the semifinal, and the final. In the heats, each canoeist completed two runs of the course. The time, in seconds, of each run was added to the number of penalty points assessed. Touching any of the 21 slalom gates resulted in a 2-second penalty for each gate touched, while skipping any of the gates resulted in a 50-second penalty. The total times for the two preliminary runs were summed to give a score for the heats. The top 12 boats advanced to the semifinals. The semifinals consisted of a single run. The 2011 Canoe Slalom World Cup was a series of four races in five canoeing and kayaking categories organized by the International Canoe Federation (ICF). It was the 24th edition. Calendar The series opened with World Cup Race 1 in Tacen, Slovenia (24–26 June) and ended with the World Cup Final in Prague, Czech Republic (12–14 August). The World Cup Final held a special status as the tie-breaker. Final standings The winner of each race was awarded 60 points. Points for lower places differed from one category to another. Every participant was guaranteed at least two points for participation and five points for qualifying for the semifinal run. The 1999 Canoe Slalom World Cup was a series of five races in 4 canoeing and kayaking categories organized by the International Canoe Federation (ICF). It was the 12th edition. The series consisted of 4 regular world cup races and the world cup final. Calendar Final standings The winner of each world cup race was awarded 30 points. The points scale reached down to 1 point for 20th place in the men's K1, while in the other three categories only the top 15 received points (with 6 points for 15th place). Only the best two results of each athlete from the first 4 world cups plus the result from the world cup final counted for the final world cup standings. Canoe Slalom World Cup
The ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup is an annual season-long series of top level races in canoe slalom held under the auspices of the International Canoe Federation. It has been held since 1988 in four canoe and kayak disciplines for men and women. The four original disciplines were men's single canoe (C1), men's double canoe (C2), men's kayak (K1) and women's kayak. A women's single canoe discipline (C1) was added to the world cup in 2010. The men's C2 event was removed from the world cup series in 2018 and it was replaced by the mixed C2 event. The mixed C2 event only lasted for one season, however. 2018 was also the first time that world cup points were awarded for the kayak cross (called extreme K1 at the time). Kayak cross individual (a kayak cross time trial event) was introduced as a separate discipline in 2025. Canoe slalom (previously known as whitewater slalom) is a competitive sport with the aim to navigate a Spraydeck, decked canoe or kayak through a course of hanging downstream or upstream gates on Whitewater, river rapids in the fastest time possible. It is one of two kayak and canoeing disciplines at the Summer Olympics, and is referred to by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as Canoe/Kayak Slalom.
